1803 S-248 R4 F12 Sharpness VF35 but there is microscopic carbon dusted on the left side of the obverse and a patch of corrosion with red and green verdigris at the top of the reverse. The remainder of the planchet is smooth and the toning is glossy steel brown. Most likely recolored. EDS, Breen state I. The “Mumps” break is strong but there are no die cracks or swelling. $350

1803 S-249 R2 Corrected Denominator 100 over 000 F15 Sharpness near VF30 but covered with small contact marks, none significant but far more than acceptable at this level of sharpness. The notable marks are a light rim bruise at the T in UNITED and rim nicks at the F in OF and E in AMERICA. Glossy steel brown with lighter brown and tan in protected areas. The highpoints are a darker shade of steel brown. EDS, Breen state II, before any die cracks but there is a minor rim break at ED in UNITED. The Corrected Denominator feature is bold. $1,500
