LOT 298 1801 S-219 R2 3-Error Reverse F12+ Sharpness VF20 or slightly better but covered with fine granularity, strongest on the reverse. No verdigris, only a few contact marks. The notable marks are a thin nick on the jawline, a few more in the field before the neck, and a pair of tiny rim nicks at RTY. Mostly glossy dark olive brown and steel. MDS, Breen state IV, with a single die crack on the reverse. The 3 die-cutter errors on the reverse are clear. $2,500

LOT 299 1801 S-219 R2 3-Error Reverse VG8 Sharpness at least F12 but the toning is dark olive brown and steel and the planchet is covered with fine granularity. There are a few small spots of raised verdigris, none distracting, and the only contact mark is a thin nick on the rim right of the fraction. M-LDS, Breen state V, with two die cracks from UNITED to the fraction. The date is strong and all 3 of the die-cutter errors on the reverse are clear (although the 000 denominator is weakened a bit by die failure in that area). $350
