Lot 32 1809 S-280 R-2 PCGS XF Detail (Scratch). Attractive light brown and light steel browns. There is a hairline scratch in the field over to between stars 9 and 10, and a couple very faint pin scratches only visible under a glass. Not sure why that should be enough to earn a Details distinction by PCGS. There is also a minor lamination in the dentils at stars 5-6. Smooth, hard surfaces. M-LDS, Breen state VI, Smith state 6. Our grade is VF30. $ 1,950

Lot 33 1809 S-280 R-1 PCGS VF30. Dark olive brown surfaces with only the most trivial of marks. The best identifying mark is a rim nick over ES in STATES. Smooth, hard surfaces. LDS Breen state VII, Smith state 7. Our grade is VF20. $ 2,600 Ex; Jack Beymer 4/14/1985 - Pete Smith Collection
