EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 325 1835 N-10 R4+ Head of 1834, Small 8 G6 . A point or two sharper but there are nicks scattered over both sides and a minor rim dent at D-S. A diagonal nick on the E in CENT is the most-notable mark. Glossy medium brown and chocolate. E-MDS, Grellman state b. The die crack at TAT is strong but the cud break has not formed. The date is strong and the legends are complete

LOT 322 1832 N-3 R1 Large Letters ANACS graded EF40 . Frosty dark olive brown and steel. Looks smooth but a glass reveals microscopic granularity covering all but the highpoints. No marks but there is a very light scuff on the cheek that left lighter brown toning there. E-MDS, Grellman stats a, with sharp dentils and no crumbling in the dentils at ES O. Our grade is EF40 sharpness net VF30. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341022

LOT 326 1835 N-11 R4+ Head of 1834, Small 8 F12 . Sharpness VF30 but covered with uniform fine to moderate granularity. No marks or verdigris and the eye appeal of this cent is decent in spite of the imperfect surfaces. Dark olive brown. E-MDS, Grellman state a late, with strong die cracks on the reverse but without the radial crack from the right top of the U in UNITED to the dentils.

LOT 323 1833/2 N-4 R4 VG10 . Glossy medium chocolate brown with a swipe of lighter coppery tan in the field before the face caused by a light scuff that broke the toning. Otherwise nice with trivial marks, just worn. MDS, Grellman state c early, with die cracks on both sides but no cud. The so-called overdate feature is still visible (may be a repunched 3 rather than a real overdate).

LOT 327 1835 N-11 R4+ Head of 1834, Small 8 G5 . Glossy steel brown with light chocolate in protected areas on the reverse. Smooth surfaces with minor marks consistent with the grade. A pair of hairline scratches at the O in OF can help identify this cent. Terminal die state, Grellman state d, with a fully raised cud break from the U to under the ribbon.

LOT 324 1834 N-3 R1 Large 8, Small Stars ANACS graded EF40 . Glossy medium brown and chocolate with a streak of darker olive brown from the O in ONE down to the end of the wreath ribbon. The only mark is a tiny chip on the rim over star 9. An attractive piece, just lightly worn on the devices. M-LDS, Grellman state b, with a die crack through stars 12 & 13. There is a fine double profile from the forehead to the chin with additional doubling on some stars and IBERTY. Our grade is VF35. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341024
