LOT 249 1803 S-259 R4 Small Date, Large Fraction VG8 . Sharpness near F15 with fine roughness scattered over both sides. Traces of greenish verdigris show on both sides, mostly at STA. Rather glossy reddish chocolate and light olive brown with lighter brown on the highpoints. Rare M-LDS, Breen state III, with a sunken retained cud break over STAT. The date and legends are clear.

LOT 252 1805 S-267 R1 Blunt 1 ANACS graded VF25 Details, Corroded . Glossy chocolate and olive brown mixed with lighter brown, possibly recolored. The planchet is reasonably smooth but there are traces of shallow scale in protected places around the wreath. Otherwise just minor nicks and a small planchet chip at the dentils off the bust tip. E-MDS. Our grade is VF20 net F15. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341098

LOT 250 1803 S-262 R3 VG8+ . Sharpness F15 but covered with fine roughness on all but the highpoints which are smooth. No verdigris and the only mark is a dull rim nick left of the lowest curl. Light olive and steel brown. MDS with a die crack slanting through the bust. The date and legends are complete and clear. Close to net VG10.

LOT 253 1805 S-267 R1 Blunt 1 F12 . Sharpness VF35 or slightly better but dark with fine roughness covering most of the planchet. No verdigris, but the toning is very dark steel, nearly black. A fine vertical scratch from the ear to the neck is the only notable mark. E-MDS. Great detail but not very attractive.

LOT 251 1803 NC-1 R5+ VG7 . Sharpness F12 but covered with fine roughness and small contact marks. The roughness is most noticeable on the left half of the reverse and around the fraction where there is some crusty verdigris. Lightly to medium chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown on the left side of the reverse. MDS, Breen state II, with a fine die crack through the top of NITE. The date and legends are complete and easily readable.

LOT 254 1805 S-269 R1 Pointed 1 VF30 . At least 10 points sharper with a few small patches of very fine roughness on otherwise smooth surfaces. The notable areas of roughness are at the rim left of the L in LIBERTY and on the edge at TE in STATES. Frosty dark olive brown and steel. LDS, Breen state IV, with swelling in the field left of the lower curls.
