EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 476 1825 N-8 R3 VF20 . At least 5 points sharper but there is a patch of fine roughness at RICA with faint roughness at ES in STATES. Both of these areas are toned reddish steel brown. The remainder of the planchet is smooth and is toned glossy steel brown and light chocolate. No notable contact marks. Sharply struck EDS, Grellman state a, with crisp dentils on both sides and no die cracks.

LOT 479 1826 N-1 R2 PCGS graded AU55 . Very attractive frosty olive brown and chocolate. Essentially flawless, just lightly worn on the highpoints. A tick over the E in CENT can help identify this cent. MDS, Grellman state b late. There is a small but strong rim cud above star 6 and the upper dash right of the date is thin and faint while the lower dash is still strong (parts of a badly misplaced star). A nice cent. Our grade is EF45+ Choice. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 36814.55/32848252

LOT 480 1826 N-3 R3 AU55 . Lustrous steel brown mixed with light reddish steel tones in the obverse fields. Frosty lighter brown shows in protected areas on the reverse. Sharply struck E-MDS, Grellman state b, with crumbling in the dentils from star 6 to star 8, strongest at stars 6 & 8. The fields are hard and slightly reflective giving this cent really nice eye appeal.

LOT 478 1825 N-10 R3 PCGS graded XF40 . Glossy olive brown and chocolate mottled with reddish brown. Traces of microscopic roughness show in most of the reddish areas. Many small nicks show on both sides, none significant but more than you expect to see at this level of sharpness. MDS, Grellman state b, with a fine die crack from the bust tip to the dentils left of the date, but there is no crumbling in the dentils. Our grade is net VF25. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 36808.40/81291805

LOT 481 1826 N-4 R2 AU50+ . Frosty steel and olive brown. Satiny luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a few faint hairlines at AM in AMERICA. An attractive cent with just a touch of friction on the highpoints. LDS, Grellman state b. The earlier die line to the base of the 6 is gone and there are die clashmarks on both sides.
