Hall of Fame Collection Half Dollars

LOT 233 1814 Overton-105 R2 VF30+. Frosty steel gray with brighter silver in protected areas and overtones of light bluish steel. Smooth with nice eye appeal. A tiny mark near the dentils above the front of the head is the only notable defect. Later die state with strong die clashmarks on the reverse. Struck from misaligned dies with both sides positioned off slightly to the bottom affecting only the dentils.

LOT 234 1814 Overton-107 R2 AU55. Frosty light silvery gray with darker bluish steel toning near the rims, particularly on the obverse. Sharply struck with very nice eye appeal. Just a hint of friction on the highest points of the devices from mint state. The fields are covered with fine radial die flowlines and the die clashmarks are strong. A very nice piece with mint state eye appeal.

 BEAUTIFULLY TONED 1815

yes LOT 235 1815/2 Overdate 5 over 2, Overton-101 R2 AU50. Wonderfully toned glossy light bluish steel gray with mint frost in protected areas. Looks mint state but there is a hint of friction on the highpoints, all hidden under the very attractive toning. No notable defects. MDS with fine die clashmarks on both sides, as usual, but the reverse is uncracked. The undertype 2 is visible under the upper half of the 5. A beautiful example of this tough date.
