LOT 357 1811 S-287 R2 PCGS graded AU50 . Glossy olive brown and steel with mint frost in the fields and protected areas. An attractive cent with very light wear on the devices, but there are some contact marks including a very light scratch down from the eye and some contact marks on the rim, particularly at K-1 on the obverse and above the O in OF. MDS, Breen state III late, with swelling at the final 1 to stars 13 & 12. Struck slightly off center to K-3 affecting only the dentils. Graded AU50 net EF40 and tied for CC#24 in the Noyes census, his photo #25877. Our grade is EF45 net EF40. 36496.50/61275956

LOT 358 1812 S-288 R2 Large Date PCGS graded AU55 . Glossy medium brown with lustrous golden light tan in the fields and protected areas on both sides. There is a streak of darker brown toning from star 4 to stars 9 & 10 and a large puff of slightly reddish chocolate brown toning at MERICA. No roughness or verdigris, and the only notable contact mark is a fine diagonal scratch at the top of star 4. LDS, Breen state III, with flowlined fields and the legend at the top of the reverse merging into the rim. Graded EF45 net EF40 and tied for CC#19 in the Noyes census, his photo #29158.
