FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS

THE FRENCH-NAFTZGER S-203

LOT 259 1800 S-203 R3 VF35 . Very attractive glossy medium chocolate brown and light olive with smooth surfaces and mint frost in protected areas. A sharp cent with very little wear, but there is a scratch under MERI into the adjacent C that lowers the grade. Otherwise just a couple trivial marks of no significance. MDS, Breen state III, with die clashmarks on both sides. Graded VF35 by Del Bland and tied for CC#6 in his census. Noyes says EF45 net VF35 and tied for CC#5, his photo #26227. An attractive cent in spite of the mark, and it comes with a great provenance.
