EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 221 1798 S-173 R3 Style II Hair, Small 8 VF30 . Uniform glossy medium chocolate brown with traces of frost in protected areas. Would rate a slightly higher grade but there is a dull vertical nick or planchet void on the cheek, and it does catch your eye. Otherwise the surfaces are smooth with only trivial marks. M-LDS, Breen state VII, with a strong rim cud at RTY, and the cud is strongly connected to all three letters. Struck with the reverse rotated 55 degrees CCW from the normal head-to-foot die orientation.
