FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS

OFF-CENTER S-151

LOT 192 1798/7 S-151 R3 Overdate Small 8 over 7 F15 . Ten points sharper with extremely faint roughness hidden under glossy steel brown and light olive toning that blends to darker olive brown in protected areas. No marks or verdigris, and the eye appeal is quite nice for the grade in spite of the imperfect surfaces. LDS, Breen state VIII, with all the cracks and swelling listed by Breen, but the terminal cud break over the E in AMERICA (not mentioned by Breen) has not formed. Struck slightly off center to K-11. Graded VF25 net F12 and tied for CC#8 in the Bland census. Noyes says F12 net VG8 and tied for CC#15, his photo #27465.
