CONDITION CENSUS N-44
LOT 850 1848 N-44 R5+ VF25. Ten points sharper with great eye appeal, but there are a few light contact marks The notable marks are a very short horizontal scratch near the dentils over star 3, a tiny rim nick left of star 5, and a couple others right of star 12. The reverse has a fresh, dull scrape down through the first T in STATES and a few tiny digs inside the wreath. Choice glossy chocolate brown with frost in protected areas. M-LDS, die state b. The die lines over UN are gone and the field is rising around much of the legend. The dies were freshly lapped and the fields are slightly reflective. A nice example of this tough die variety, CC#6 in the Grellman census. Ex Rodney C. Burress 8/18/1988-Dr. Thomas S. Chalkley, Superior 1/28/1990:1027-Wesley A.
