LOT 768 1841 N-6 R1 EF40. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with a couple subtle puffs of reddish brown toning on the obverse. Smooth with mint frost in protected areas. A short diagonal scratch midway between star 1 and the chin is the only notable sign of contact. LDS, die state c, with a subtle wave in the field just right of the main curl and another before the neck.
LOT 764 1840 N-9 R3 Large Date F15. Sharpness VF30 but there is a patch of fine corrosion right of star 8 and the opposing area off the end of the wreath stem plus some nicks scattered over the obverse. Recolored medium brown and chocolate with olive on the reverse. LDS, die state e. The bisecting die crack on the obverse is strong.

LOT 765 1841 N-2 R2 VG10. Glossy chocolate and olive brown with lighter brown on the devices. No significant marks, just worn. EDS, die state a. The lumps (hub defects) at the date are clear.
LOT 769 1841 N-7 R2 VF20. Sharpness EF40 but covered with fine to moderate granularity under slightly glossy dark olive brown toning. No marks but there are traces of verdigris at ED-S. LDS, die state d, with a clear die crack from the dentils under star 1 to the center of the cheek.

LOT 766 1841 N-3 R2 VF35. Five points sharper but there is a dull, barely visible scratch under star 10. Otherwise quite nice and the eye appeal is excellent. Glossy medium chocolate delicately mottled with lighter brown on the obverse. LDS, die state d. Both dies are cracked and the early die lines are gone.
LOT 770 1842 N-1 R3 Small Date VF25+. Sharpness near VF35 but there is a fine planchet lamination in the field at star 11 (as struck). Otherwise the only mark is a rim nick over the second S in STATES. Glossy olive brown with lighter brown on the highpoints. LDS, die state b. The lump under the 1 is dull and weak and the early die line at ITED is gone.

LOT 767 1841 N-4 R1 VF20. At least ten points sharper but lightly burnished and retoned glossy chocolate and steel brown with some lighter brown in protected areas on the obverse. No spots, just minor contact marks. M-LDS, die state c, with die cracks on both sides.
LOT 771 1842 N-2 R1 Small Date EF45. Five points sharper but there are traces of dirt or waxy verdigris in a few protected areas. The surfaces are smooth with uniform glossy dark olive brown toning. A microscopic planchet chip under star 2 is the best identifying mark. M-LDS, die state c. All the early hub defects and die lines are gone but the reverse is uncracked.
