1794 Large Cent Price List

EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

Lot 82 1794 S-45 R-5+ PCGS XF Details (Altered Surf.). Very lightly smoothed and recolored dark steel and olive brown. There is no hint of roughness or corrosion so the smoothing must have been inspired by some contact marks. There is a shallow pinch on the rim under the 179 and a few minor rim nicks on both sides plus a thin diagonal nick on the cheek left of the nostril. The date and legends are all strong. M-LDS, Breen state II early. The die crack at IC in AMERICA is very light. Not perfect but sharply detailed and still decent for this tough die variety. 35600.94/37153020 $ 7,500 Ex; CVM 7/2013 - Mark D. Cadden 12/2013 - Jon A.
