LOT 289 1798 S-148 R2 Large 8, Style I Hair F12. Sharpness near VF25 but covered with small nicks and minor roughness under glossy olive brown toning. The notable marks are two thin diagonal nicks under ON in ONE and a couple smaller ones over that N. EDS but not quite the earliest, Breen state II, with fine die cracks from the lowest curl and bust tip. The date and legends are strong.



 TERMINAL 1798 S-148

LOT 290 1798 S-148 R2 Large 8, Style I Hair G4. A couple points sharper but covered with fine to moderate roughness under glossy medium chocolate brown toning. The higher points are a lighter shade of brown. No verdigris and the only mark is a dull nick under the right side of the fraction. Rare TDS, Breen state VIII, with two cud breaks: one at the end of the bust and a large one at ERTY. The date is not strong but it is easily readable and the legends are clear.

LOT 291 1798 S-154 R4+ Large 8, Style I Hair, ANACS graded VF20, Struck on Defective Planchet. Slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel. Covered with fine roughness, strongest on the reverse, and there are traces of verdigris on both sides. No notable contact marks but there is an obvious planchet void under the lowest curls (as struck). This is not a planchet clip; rather a small piece of the planchet broke off. EDS, Breen state I, with minor swelling at ED in UNITED. Our grade is VF20 sharpness net VG10.
