LOT 251 1796 S-102 R4 Draped Bust PCGS graded VG8. Slightly glossy steel brown blending to medium chocolate in protected areas. Mostly smooth with extremely faint roughness in the fields and protected areas. The only marks are a faint scrape hidden in the hair left of the eye and a tiny rim nick over the R in AMERICA. The date is complete and easily readable although the bottom is starting to weaken, and the legends are readable. Basically just well worn. LDS, Breen state II, with a die crack through BE into the hair. Our grade is G5. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 35786.08/37885340

LOT 253 1796 S-104 R3 Draped Bust with LIHERTY Error, PCGS VF Detail, Environmental Damage. Olive brown and steel with lighter brown highpoints. The surfaces are dull thanks to fine roughness that covers the planchet. There are traces of verdigris on both sides. The only notable marks are a thin nick low on the neck and a minor rim bruise at K-8 on the obverse. MDS, Breen state III, with die rust evident in the fields on the obverse and a die crack up from the second T in STATES. The date and legends are clear and the LIHERTY error is obvious. Our grade is F12 sharpness net VG7. The LIHERTY feature is noted on the PCGS label. 1413.97/39855422

LOT 252 1796 S-103 R4+ Draped Bust with LIHERTY Error G4+. The obverse is a solid G5 but the reverse is a bit weaker with some of the legend wearing into the rim. The obverse is smooth but there is microscopic granularity in the fields on the reverse. The only mark of any significance is a dull, strong dent at the rim over the N in UNITED. The date is clear and the LIHERTY error is strong.

LOT 254 1796 S-104 R3 Draped Bust with LIHERTY Error G5. A point or two sharper but covered with uniform very fine granularity. No verdigris and the toning is a slightly glossy dark olive brown with lighter steel brown on the devices. The only marks are two dull rim nicks before the neck. EDS, before any obvious die rust or cracks. The date and LIHERTY are strong and the legends on the reverse are complete and easily readable. The LIHERTY error is clear.
