INDIANAPOLIS EAC 2024  BEAUTIFUL S-22

LOT 188 1794 S-22 R1 VF35+. Choice frosty light to medium brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Virtually flawless with great eye appeal and light wear on the devices. A small pinprick on the lower part of the bust above the 4 and a very light rim bruise at TA in STATES are the only notable marks, and they are trivial. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state II early, Heck state 1 late or 2 early. The “mound” defect over NE in ONE is quite faint, just starting to show. A premium example of the variety. LOT 189 1794 S-25 R3 VG7. Sharpness F15 but covered with microscopic roughness on the obverse, moderate roughness on the reverse. No marks but there are traces of fine verdigris on the reverse. EDS.

Rucker Collection (includes the Rucker collection envelope) LOT 190 1794 S-26 R2 VF20. Attractive glossy chocolate brown, the highpoints a lighter shade of brown than the protected areas. Darker chocolate toning shows in the hair above the ear. The surfaces are smooth and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a couple light nicks just right of the Y in LIBERTY and a pinprick at the left foot of the first A in AMERICA. E-MDS, Breen state II late, Heck 3, with a clear die crack down through the E in STATES to the leaf below. The reverse is rotated 15 degrees clockwise relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. The date and legends are strong. Graded VF25 net F15 and tied for CC#33 in the Noyes census, his photo #27099.
