 RARE DIE STATE 1800 C-1

LOT 115 1800 C-1 R2 PCGS AU Detail, Cleaned. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate. There are some microscopic hairlines on the obverse but to call this piece “Cleaned” appears off base. A sharp, attractive piece that comes with just a few trivial marks including three tiny spots of reddish carbon in the field behind the portrait, a similar spot of darker carbon under the hair ribbon, a light horizontal contact mark at the curl on the neck, and a spot of dark toning at the top of the wreath. Rare E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, Fuhrman state 2, with extensive die rust in the obverse fields, strong vertical die polishing lines in the fields on the reverse, and deep die clashmarks from LI over UNI. Our grade is EF45+ . 1051.92/47134593
