INDIANAPOLIS EAC 2024 CLIPPED PLANCHET

LOT 110 1795 C-5a R3 No Pole VG10. Sharpness near VF20 but burnished and partly retoned glossy golden tan blending to light olive and reddish brown in protected areas. The planchet is rough near the dentils under and left of the date and in the opposing area over TATES. Looks like this was caused by the planchet being thin in that area. Another void shows in the field left of the bottom of the cap, and a curved planchet clip affects the dentils left of the cap. The date and legends are complete and strong. MDS. The bisecting die crack on the reverse is obvious.

LOT 113 1797 C-2 R3 VG8. Sharpness F12 but there are several old scratches on both sides including one on the cap, a few more on the neck and hair, and a curved one over the C in CENT. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown. No corrosion or verdigris. Later die state with obvious swelling at ICA to the fraction. Weight 85.2 grains.

LOT 111 1795 C-6a R2 No Pole VG10. Struck over a TAL Cent. Glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth with trivial contact marks. Undertype from the TAL Cent is clearest in the field at the top and left of the cap. Struck slightly off center to K-5.5. Weight 83.4 grains.

LOT 114 1797 C-3b R4 Lettered Edge Fair-2+. Glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. The fields and protected areas show microscopic granularity and there are a couple minor marks at the back of the head and a shallow dent on the forehead, but basically this is just a very well worn half cent. The date is complete and easily readable and half the legends are readable. EDS without any trace of a crack from the chin. Only portions of the edge lettering remain visible, and those are only partial because they hang off the planchet. Decent for the grade, close to AG3.

LOT 112 1797 C-1 R2 Repunched 1 AG3+. Slightly glossy olive brown with lighter steel brown on the devices. Smooth and void of marks, just worn. Nice for the grade. EDS before any swelling on the reverse. The date and 1 above 1 feature are clear.
