LOT 76 1786 Connecticut Miller 5.3-N R3 Mailed Bust Left, “Hercules Head” F15. Sharpness VF30 but covered with fine to moderate roughness with traces of a greenish patina in some protected areas. No planchet flaws and the only contact mark is a tiny rim bruise at EC in CONNEC. Slightly glossy dark olive brown with greenish overtones from the patina. Struck a bit off center to K-8. Late die state with heavy swelling on the reverse. Weight 139.1 grains.

FINEST OF VARIETY

LOT 77 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.7-r.4 R5 Draped Bust Left, PCGS graded AU50. Glossy reddish brown with frosty luster in protected areas. Just a touch of wear on the devices but there is a smooth planchet void at the top of the head that caused weakness at the opposing globe. The obverse is slightly misaligned to K-3, the reverse to K-7.5. Recognized as the finest of the variety in previous sales; we have no reason to disagree. LOT 78 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.17-r.5 R6 Draped Bust Left VG8. Several points sharper but covered with fine to moderate roughness in the fields and protected areas. No marks or verdigris. Slightly glossy olive brown with lighter steel brown on the highpoints. Double struck. The first strike was centered; the second was 20% off center to K-3. Weight 107.6 grains.
