2024 EAC Sale

INDIANAPOLIS EAC 2024 OFF-CENTER 1816 N-9

LOT 413 1816 N-9 R3 AG3. Slightly sharper with several diagonal scratches in the center of the reverse and a couple rim bruises on both sides. Otherwise smooth with attractive glossy light to medium chocolate brown toning. Struck about 15% off center to K-12.

Ex R. S. Brown, Jr. (includes the Brown collection envelope--one of his earlier purchases based on his inventory code)

LOT 414 1817 N-12 R3 ANACS graded VF25. Attractive glossy light to medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. Smooth with only trivial marks, just lightly worn. A few ticks under stars 7 & 8 are the only notable defects. MDS, Grellman state c, with a thick crack connecting the tops of the 1 & 7. Our grade is F15+, very close to VF20. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label.

Ex Nicholas Forster 2013

LOT 415 1818 N-2 R4 G5. Rather glossy chocolate brown and steel. No corrosion or verdigris but there are some light contact marks including fine scratches on the obverse. LDS, Grellman state i or k, with a raised cud break at NITED nearly reaching the adjacent S in STATES. The amount of wear may have erased a shallow “dimple” in the cud over the T in UNITED (die state i), so the precise die state is unknown.

LOT 416 1818 N-10 R1 MS60. Lustrous light olive and steel with about 10% of the planchet showing mellowed mint red. The only notable defect is a shallow but obvious planchet flake right of star 11 (as struck). MDS, the usual Randall Hoard die state. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS62RB (NGC label #3258685-001 included).

Ex Thomas D. Reynolds (includes the Reynolds sales envelope)

Ex Richard V. Punchard-Fred H. Borcherdt 1/2015-Tom Schuler (includes the Punchard/Borcherdt collection envelope)
