 BEAUTIFUL TERMINAL STATE S-239

LOT 348 1802 S-239 R3 NGC graded AU50. Glossy olive brown and chocolate with steel overtones. Smooth and very attractive, just lightly worn. A tiny, barely visible scratch left of the L in LIBERTY is the only notable mark. LDS, Breen state V, with a clearly raised “elephant trunk” break from the nose. The section between the two die cracks is clearly raised. A wonderful die state. Our grade is VF30. The attribution and Jules Reiver Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. 2537715-001

LOT 349 1802 S-239 R3 VG8. Slightly glossy steel brown. Several points sharper but roughness covers the field before the face and LIBERTY. There is a rim bruise at the bust and an obvious dig in the field behind the head. LDS, Breen state V, with a raised cud break extending into the field from the nose.

LOT 350 1802 S-240 R3 VF25. Sharpness EF40 with fine roughness in the fields before and above the portrait with similar roughness at ED-ST. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with reddish brown tones in the roughened areas. Rare E-MDS, Breen state II, with sharp die clashmarks on the obverse but no die crack up from the bust.
