EARLY CENTS
LOT 12
1794 C-8 R5 Liberty Cap, High Relief Head Right, XF45 PCGS. Glossy mix of chocolate and lighter brown, the reverse a few shades lighter than the obverse. There are some contact marks including a couple nicks on the truncation above the 94, a dull dent on the chin, and minor rim bruises at CA and under the right end of the fraction. Traces of verdigris can be found in some of the protected areas (looks soft and removable). LDS, Manley state 2.0 late, Fuhrman state 3, with a strong die crack from the rim down through the second T in STATES and wreath into the field above the A in HALF. The earlier die clashmarks are clear. Our grade is net VF25+ , close to VF30. A nice piece, near the lower end of the condition census for this tough variety.
