1799 S-189 R2 AG3 Glossy olive brown with lighter brown toning covering the devices. Very nice for the grade, just worn. The only notable marks are a thin diagonal nick in the field off the bottom of the chin and a collection of faint parallel hairline scratches to the right of the nick. MDS. The lump above the T in CENT is strong. The date is weak but the 99 can easily be made out and most of the legend on the reverse is clear. $2,950

LOT 258 1800/1798 S-190 R3 Overdate 1800 over 1798, Style I Hair F12 Sharpness near VF20 but lightly burnished and nicely retoned glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. There are a few small ticks on the neck and a fine horizontal hairline from the ear lobe through the upper lip into the field. EDS, Breen state I, with die clashmarks on the obverse but none on the reverse. The overdate feature is strong on the 8, weaker but visible on the 00. $2,500
