A vertical nick and scuff of fine scratches left of the hair ribbon plus a minor rim bruise over the E in STATES are the notable marks. Glossy chocolate brown. MDS, Breen state V, with die cracks on the reverse. $450

LOT 326 1802 S-238 R4 F15 Sharpness VF35 but scratched in the obverse fields, strongest near the dentils behind the portrait. The surfaces are mostly smooth but there are areas of fine roughness on both sides, mostly on the obverse. No verdigris or other notable marks. Light olive and chocolate brown with peeps of frosty tan in a few protected areas. E-MDS, Breen state I, with clashmarks on the obverse and die cracks on the reverse. $1,000
