1802 S-228 R2 Error Fraction 1/000 VG10 Five points sharper but lightly corroded, strongest on the obverse. Glossy dark olive and steel, nearly black. No verdigris or significant contact marks. EDS, Breen state I, before any die clashmarks on the obverse. The date and legends are complete--including the error fraction feature. $350

1802 S-229 R2 VF25 Five points sharper but there is a small planchet delamination just right of the date (as struck). Otherwise this cent is nearly choice and the color is a very attractive glossy medium chocolate brown. Three thin diagonal nicks in the field before the face are the only notable signs of contact. E-MDS, Breen state II, with a very fine die crack through the top of LIB. Graded VF30 net VF25 and tied for CC#14 in the Noyes census, his photo #23915. Graded VF30 and tied for CC#11 in the Bland census. $1,850
