1794 C-2b R5+ Liberty Cap, Head Right, Large Edge Letters, F15 PCGS. The obverse is slightly glossy medium brown fading to chocolate and olive brown in protected areas. The reverse is glossy light to medium brown. Looks smooth to the unaided eye but there is very fine roughness on the obverse, mostly in the fields and protected areas where there are traces of darker verdigris. Only a few notable contact marks including a rim nick at ES in STATES, a rim bruise at the U, and a couple more small ones at CA. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, Fuhrman state 2, with die clashmarks on the obverse The date and legends are strong except for strike weakness at ES in STATES. The Large Edge Letters are clear. A nice example of this rare variety in spite of the imperfect surfaces. Our grade is VG10+ . The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
