1549 William & Mary (1689-1694). Gold Guinea, 1689. Conjoined busts by Roettier right, elephant and castle below. Reverse: Crowned quartered Arms with central lion of Nassau (S.3427, KM 474.2). The Guinea draws its name from the Guinea region of West Africa, where most of the gold used to make the coins originated. In NGC holder graded Unc details (citing reverse graffiti – there is no reverse graffiti, although there are some small reverse scratches).
