LOT 429 1851 N-35 R5 PCGS graded AU55. Attractive glossy light to medium brown. Smooth with light wear on the devices and trivial contact marks. The notable marks are a pair of light nicks midway between the throat and star 1 and a faint hairline over star 13. E-MDS, die state a. There are thin rim cud breaks showing at NIT but no rim cud below the ribbon. Sharp die lines from NNW to SSE cover the reverse fields. Our grade is EF40+, close to EF45. Tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 407757.55/26560592

LOT 430 1851 N-36 R5+ PCGS graded VF30. Steel brown and light olive with small specks of slightly darker brown toning scattered over the obverse. Lightly worn with minor marks including a light scratch and a few nicks on the neck and a very light rim bruise left of star 4. MDS. The point up from the right top of the E in CENT is sharp. Our grade is VF25 net VF20+. Comes with a nice provenance. According to Jules Reiver this is the discovery coin for the variety. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 1892.30/26782738
