LOT 384 1849 N-23 R3 EF40. Five points sharper with a fine scratch just left of the front edge of the coronet. Attractive uniform glossy light brown with frost in protected areas. E-MDS, die state b, with fine die roughness around the date and lower stars (from die rust).

LOT 385 1849 N-24 R3- VF35. Glossy light to medium brown with darker steel brown on the highpoints. There are a few small splashes of reddish brown toning on the reverse. A dull rim nick at star 9 is the only notable contact mark. LDS, die state c, with a clearly defined rim cud break at star 13 reaching part way up to star 12. An extremely rare intermediate state of this cud break. CC#3 of the few known with the intermediate stage of the cud. LOT 386 1849 N-29 R2 MS60+. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel brown with traces of mint red on the reverse. Satiny and absolutely spectacular if not for a small spot of raised verdigris in the dentils at star 13. Otherwise this cent is flawless. Sharply struck M-LDS, die state d. A very narrow rim cud shows from right of star 13 to below the date, widest under the 4. All the stars have full radial lines. Tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census.
