LOT 378 1849 N-2 R2 EF45. Frosty medium steel brown. The only notable marks are three small ticks high on the neck. M-LDS, die state bb, with extensive crumbling on the reverse.
LOT 381 1849 N-7 R4 PCGS graded AU58. Recolored glossy olive and lighter reddish chocolate with underlying very faded red in protected areas on the obverse. Sharp and attractive with light friction on the highpoints. Just minor contact marks including some ticks on the cheek, a few more in the obverse fields, and a very light rim bruise at CA. MDS, die state d. Our grade is net EF45. 1886.58/26530471
LOT 379 1849 N-4 R1 PCGS graded MS64+ Brown. Frosty light steel brown with peeps of faded mint red on the obverse, 15% of the red remaining on the reverse. The only mark, and it is very faint, is a fine hairline from just left of the earlobe down to the middle curl on the neck. E-MDS, die state b, with a fine die crack from the leaf tip under ES through OF to the dentils and a faint crack through the top of MER. The die lines at UNI are sharp. Sharply struck with excellent eye appeal. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census. 1886.64+/26530478
LOT 382 1849 N-7 R4 NGC graded MS62 Brown. Frosty medium brown and chocolate with a few faint peeps of very faded red on both sides and a puff of darker brown toning on the lower portion of the obverse. The fields are frosty and this cent is choice except for some tiny ticks on the cheek. Sharply struck M-LDS, die state e. The obverse fields are very rough from die deterioration and the repunching on the 18 is gone. (The obverse is lapped soon after to smooth out much of this roughness while the reverse die state remains unchanged.) An interesting die state. Our grade is AU50. 3515778-006
