LOT 328 1846 N-23 R5 Tall Date, Repunched 1, G5. Several points sharper but recolored and there is a dull dent that flattened the end of the nose. Glossy light olive and brown with very faded red in protected areas on the obverse. There are a half dozen tiny ticks around the ear and minor roughness in thee fields and protected areas. The repunching at the center of the 1 is visible and the attribution points are clear.

LOT 329 1846 N-26 R5 Tall Date, Repunched 1, F15. Mostly glossy medium brown and light chocolate with dark chocolate and olive brown toning in protected areas. The surfaces appear smooth but a glass reveals minor roughness in the fields and protected areas. Light contact marks are scattered over both sides; a very light rim bruise above star 8 can help identify this cent. M-LDS, die state c, with crumbling that connects the left top of the U to the dentils above. The repunching on the 1 is sharp. Tied for CC#12 in the Grellman census.

 CONDITION CENSUS 1847/7 N-2

LOT 330 1847/7 N-2 R3 Large 7 over Small 7 MS60. Glossy chocolate and olive brown. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has very nice eye appeal. The only marks are a very fine hairline scratch from the bust tip to below star 1 and a speck of carbon just right of star 8. Neither mark is visible to the unaided eye. LDS, die state c. The die lines at star 13 are gone and there are fine die cracks at MER and ED. The date repunching remains visible on all 4 digits, strongest over the 7, and the so-called “Small 7” is obvious above the normal 7. Tied for CC#5 overall but finest of the late die state in the Grellman census. A very nice example of this popular “Redbook” variety.
