LOT 297 1837 N-12 R3 Beaded Hair Cord, ANACS graded AU55. Very attractive frosty steel brown and light chocolate. Looks choice but this cent was lightly cleaned and expertly retoned. No marks or other defects. Nicely struck E-MDS, Grellman state a. The repunching on the left bottom of the 8 is clear, and the “Accessory E” feature (stray E punched into the wreath below the E in AMERICA) is sharp. Our grade is net EF40+, close to EF45 . LOT 294 1837 N-3 R1 Plain Hair Cord, ANACS AU55 Details, Recolored. Recolored glossy reddish chocolate with traces of lighter reddish brown in protected areas on the reverse. Sharply struck with trivial marks including a tiny nick on the rim over star 6. E-MDS with sharp dentils around both sides and a clashmark under the N in ONE. Our grade is net EF40+. LOT 298 1838 N-4 R2 AU50+. Lustrous medium steel brown with a couple peeps of faded mint red on the reverse. Very attractive with satiny fields and just a light touch of friction on the highest points. A tiny diagonal nick before the brow lock may help identify this cent. M-LDS, Grellman state f, with a clearly defined rim cud from star 12 to right of star 13 plus an internal cud break in the curl over the second 8. A nice cent in a neat die state, close to AU55.

LOT 299 1838 N-12 R2 Doubled Die Reverse, ANACS graded VF35. Glossy medium brown. Smooth with trivial marks, just worn. A dull nick on the A in STATES is the only notable defect. EDS. The doubled reverse die feature is clearest at the berry below TE in UNITED. Our grade is VF25. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7475093
LOT 296 1837 N-8 R1 Plain Hair Cord, ANACS graded AU50. Frosty light to medium brown with a puff of darker olive brown in the field right of star 3. There are no notable contact marks but there is an obvious struck-through mark at the chin where a piece of wire or brush bristle came between the die and the planchet. This “Struck Through Debris” feature is noted on the ANACS label. LDS, Grellman state e (Newcomb’s old #7). The die lines and center dot on the reverse are gone. Our grade is EF40. 7330808
