LOT 279 1831 N-12 R1 Large Letters ANACS graded AU50. Frosty medium brown and chocolate with an area of darker olive brown at UNI. The only notable defect is a patch of very fine verdigris over star 3. E-MDS, Grellman state b, with a radial crack to the dentils from star 4 but the crack to the left from star 13 does not connect to the rim. Our grade is net EF45 . 7260689
LOT 277 1830 N-10 R4+ ANACS VG10 Details, Cleaned. Slightly glossy dark olive and steel. This cent was not cleaned but it is covered with microscopic roughness. No marks or verdigris and the reverse is a bit dull. M-LDS, Grellman state c, with a strong crack through TATES and a radial crack up from that E. The area above the crack is partly raised as a retained cud. Our grade is net VG8. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7464426
LOT 280 1833 N-4 R4 ANACS VF35 Details, Cleaned. Glossy olive and steel brown with lighter brown in protected areas. Not sure this one was “cleaned” but if true then the retoning is quite nice. Smooth with some marks including a nick left of star 13 and a scrape on RICA and the end of the stem leaving lighter coppery tan on those highpoints. E-MDS, Grellman state b, before the obverse crack extends through stars 5-7. The repunching at the left top of the second 3 is sharp (sometimes called a 3/2 overdate). Our grade is VF35 sharpness net VF25+. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7464424
LOT 278 1831 N-4 R3 Medium Letters, ANACS EF45 Details, Cleaned. Lightly burnished and retoned glossy light olive and brown. Frost covers the protected areas on both sides and the eye appeal is nice in spite of the cleaning. The only marks are some small spots of darker toning at stars 4-7 and a couple very light marks on the jawline. LDS, Grellman state b, with fine die cracks at stars 8 & 9 plus a small but strong cud break involving 3 dentils at the top of star 2. Our grade is EF45 sharpness net VF35. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7464423
