EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 210 1803 S-252 R2 VG10. Five points sharper with minor roughness under glossy olive brown and chocolate toning. E-MDS. This cent has decent eye appeal in spite of the imperfect surfaces.

LOT 207 1803 S-248 R4 PCGS VF Details, Cleaning. Attractive glossy olive and light chocolate brown. This cent was not cleaned but it does have a thin coating of Care or some similar product to protect the copper from the environment. The only notable mark is a tiny planchet chip on the jaw. M-LDS, Breen state II late, with a clear die crack through the tops of MERIC. The “Mumps” break at the throat is strong and the Doubled Fraction Bar is clear. A nice cent. Our grade is VF20. 1482.92/81396804

LOT 211 Pair of 1803 Cents. Includes S-252 R2 EDS VG7 net G6 for minor scratches, and S-255 R1 EDS F15 net VG7 for rim dents. Both are glossy brown and chocolate with a strong date. Lot of 2 coins.

LOT 208 Pair of 1803 Cents. Includes S-248 R4 G5 net AG3 for corrosion, and S-249 R2 Corrected Denominator 100 over 000 AG3 with fine roughness. The dates are clear and the Corrected Denominator is strong. Lot of 2 coins.

LOT 209 1803 S-251 R2 VG10. Sharpness VF35 but covered with uniform moderate granularity. No verdigris and the only mark is a tiny rim nick at the R in AMERICA. Dark olive brown. Struck slightly off center to K-3.

LOT 212 1803 S-254 R1 VG10. Sharpness EF40 but corroded, The only contact mark is a rim dent right of the fraction. Reddish steel brown with darker steel on the highpoints. EDS. Sharp but ugly.
