LOT 487 1854 Pattern Cent, Judd-160, ELECTROTYPE COPY EF40. Steel brown and olive with mellowed red in protected areas. Sharp with very little wear but there are some contact marks on the reverse including a scratch at the T in UNITED. Traces of the underlying base metal are visible on the reverse.

LOT 489 1855 N-4 R1 Upright 55, PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown. Frosty light steel brown with about 25% of the planchet showing mellowed mint color. Slightly dull from a thin layer of natural oxidation. Sharply struck with just a few trivial marks including a tiny tick in the center of the eye brow, and a speck of darker toning under star 7, and a thin nick on the leaf under the T in CENT. EDS, die state a, before any die cracks or cuds on the reverse. Our grade is MS60+ . Housed in an old PCGS “Rattler” slab. 01908.64/7059219
