LOT 480 1835 N-9 R4 Large 8 & Stars VF25. Sharpness EF40 with small nicks scattered over both sides, none significant but clearly too many for the sharpness grade. Glossy chocolate and olive brown. A sharp nick along the dentil tips over the A in STATES can help identify this cent. Sharply struck EDS, die state a, with an uncracked reverse. From the Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

LOT 478 1835 N-6 R1 Small 8 & Stars EF45+. Frosty light olive. Essentially flawless with very light wear and great eye appeal. A small nick on the nostril can help identify this cent. E-MDS, die state b, with minor crumbling in the dentils left of star 2. The repunching at the right top of the C in AMERICA is faint but still visible. Graded AU50 by Noyes, his photo #33388. LOT 481 1835 N-11 R4+ Small 8 & Stars VG10. Sharpness VF25 but dark and gray and steel with fine roughness covering the fields and protected areas. The roughness is strongest on the obverse where there are about 10 shallow pits, mostly around stars 11-13. Partly glossy and void of verdigris or notable signs of contact. LOT 479 1835 N-7 R1 Head of 1836 EF45+. Frosty medium brown and steel. Quite attractive with luster in the fields and protected areas and very little friction on the devices. Would rate a slightly higher grade but there are a few minor marks including a tiny scratch right of the D in UNITED and specks of verdigris over the E in ONE and at the wreath below RI in AMERICA. VEDS, die state a early, with strong parallel die lines right of the D in AMERICA and small lumps on the bottoms of the 1 & 8. There is a clear double profile on much of the face with additional double, triple, and quadruple
