LOT 471 1834 N-2 R1 Small 8, Large Stars EF45. Slightly sharper with small nicks scattered over the obverse including a rim nick right of star 11. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with mint frost in the fields and protected areas. The reverse is lustrous and void of marks. LOT 474 1834 N-6 R3 Large 8, Stars, & Letters VF30. Glossy light to medium brown. Smooth with light wear and very nice eye appeal. The only notable mark is a light rim bruise at the C in AMERICA. EDS, die state a, without the triangular lump from the dentils right of star 8. There is a clear double profile on the lips and chin. From the Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

LOT 475 1834 N-6 R3 Large 8, Stars, & Letters VF30. Five points sharper with a spot of fine verdigris at AT in STATES. Otherwise smooth with attractive glossy light to medium brown toning. The highpoints are a slightly darker shade of steel brown. No notable contact marks or other defects. LDS, die state b, with a dull triangular lump from the dentils right of star 8. LOT 472 1834 N-2 R1 Small 8, Large Stars VF20. Rather glossy chocolate and steel brown. Slightly sharper but there are a few contact marks including a light scratch over star 2, a pinprick right of star 4, and a light vertical scuff on the lowest curl on the neck. Mostly smooth but there is microscopic roughness in the fields on the reverse. E-MDS, die state a, with spikes up from the dentils below the date and lower stars. LOT 476 1835 N-1 R1 Large 8 & Stars EF45+. The obverse is glossy light brown delicately woodgrained with steel brown; mint frost covers those fields and protected areas. The reverse is lustrous steel brown with subtle streaks of lighter brown, and it looks mint state. Just a few light contact marks including a faint scratch between star 2 and the chin and another under the right end of the line below CENT. Very attractive, close to AU50. E-MDS, die state a,

LOT 473 1834 N-4 R2 Large 8, Small Stars, Medium Letters EF40+. Glossy light brown with steel brown on the highpoints. An attractive cent with the details of a higher grade, but there are a few contact marks. The notable marks are a nick in the dentils at star 11, a tiny dig under star 10, and another right of the D in UNITED. None of the marks is significant but there are a few too many for this level of sharpness. MDS, die state c, with die rust at NITED STATES. The obverse is uncracked. Ex John D.
