EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 415 1826 N-6 R2 EF45. Glossy mix of light and medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. Just a few trivial marks including a small spot of darker reddish olive brown toning just right of the inner curl. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state d, with radial lines in all the stars. LOT 411 1826 N-3 R3 F15. A sharp cent but a bit dull thanks to fine granularity that covers all but the highpoints. No marks and sharply struck with mostly dull grayish steel toning. E-MDS, die state b, with minor crumbling in the dentils over star 6. From the Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

LOT 412 1826 N-4 R2 EF45. Glossy light brown and olive with frost in the protected areas. Smooth and very attractive. The only marks are some tiny spots of darker brown toning including two left of star 12. MDS, die state b. The die line to the bottom of the 6 is gone and the fields show very fine die flowlines. LOT 416 1826 N-7 R1 VF25. Glossy tan and light brown with slightly darker brown on the highpoints. Would rate a higher grade but there are some contact marks on the reverse including a couple rim nicks over AT in STATES and small digs at the right top of the T in CENT. LOT 413 1826 N-5 R2 EF40. Glossy chocolate brown and steel with mint frost in protected areas. Nicely struck with just a few trivial marks including two over ON in ONE. Sharp EDS, die state a, with crisp dentils around both sides and no crumbling in the dentils at star 6. A sharp double profile shows on most of the face, along the upper part of the coronet, and on the upper stars. Ex John J. Nicholas 7/1981-Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

LOT 417 1826/5 N-8 R2 Overdate 6 over 5 VF25. Frosty steel brown mixed with lighter brown and chocolate on the obverse. A lightly worn cent with great details, but there are areas of very fine roughness on the lower part of the obverse and upper part of the reverse. The rest of the planchet is satiny and smooth.. MDS, die state b, with crumbling in the upper notch of the N in ONE. The top of the 5 is

Saturday, May16 th , 2026 5PM CST LOT 414 1826 N-5 R2 VF30. Sharper but lightly cleaned with light brown and tan on the devices and in the fields with chocolate brown in protected areas. Just minor marks including a dull nick in the center of the jawline. LDS, die state h, with rim cuds from star 5 nearly to star 8 with a void in the cud over star 7. Ex Dean Johnson 6/1976-Fred H. LOT 418 1826 N-9 R3 F15. Sharpness VF30 but covered with fine roughness. No verdigris, and the only notable mark is a small rim dent at star 6. Slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel.
