LOT 388 1820 N-8 R3 Small Date EF45. Glossy light chocolate and steel brown delicately mixed with lighter brown. Mint frost shows in the protected areas and this cent has really nice eye appeal. Just a few small marks including a minor rim nick under star 12, two ticks on the truncation, and two small rim nicks at ST. LDS, die state c. The inner circle on the obverse is gone and the fields are smooth and slightly reflective from a fresh die polishing (that removed the inner circle). Ex Hance Jaquett 11/1982-Fred H. LOT 386 1819 N-9 R1 MS60+. Lustrous brown and light chocolate. Satiny and nearly flawless with very nice eye appeal. The only marks are a tiny spot of reddish brown toning between stars 1 & 2 and another in the field off the brow lock. LDS, die state b. LOT 389 1820 N-9 R3 Large Date VF20. Frosty uniform dark steel. This cent is void of marks and has decent eye appeal, but the surfaces are covered with uniform very fine granularity that dulls the gloss. The sharpness is at least 10 points better, even better on the reverse. LDS, die state d, with a die crack from the bust tip into the field approaching star 1. Ex Goydos-Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

LOT 387 1820/19 N-2 R2 Overdate Small 20 over 19 VF35. Glossy olive and medium chocolate brown. Smooth and quite attractive with very light wear on the devices. The fields are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die lapping. Just a few trivial marks including a tiny tick low on the front edge of the neck and a very faint horizontal scuff on the cheek (only visible if you get the light at just the right angle). LOT 390 1820 N-10 R2 Large Date EF40. At least 10 points sharper but lightly cleaned and retoned medium chocolate brown with traces of faded red in protected areas. The eye appeal of this cent is quite nice and there is just a bit of friction on the devices. Just a few microscopic ticks of no significance. LDS, die state b.
