LOT 322 1800 S-209 R3 F15. Five points sharper with two small patches of fine reddish corrosion on the reverse: one at NI and another at the right side of the fraction. The patch right of the fraction contains a few light scratches where someone tried to remove the verdigris. Otherwise glossy light olive and steel. LOT 318 1800 S-204 R4 F12. A few points sharper with tiny nicks scattered over the obverse, none significant but too many to ignore. Mostly glossy medium chocolate brown and steel with specks of darker olive brown on the right side of the obverse. MDS with minor swelling right of TY. The date is strong. From the Fred H. LOT 319 1800 S-205 R4 VG10+. Perhaps a point or two sharper but there is a rim bruise left of the fraction. Otherwise smooth with nice eye appeal. Glossy medium olive brown and steel. LOT 323 1800 S-211 R3 VG8+. Perhaps a point or two sharper but there is a tiny rim bruise at the I in UNITED and verdigris tucked into some of the most-protected areas, particularly at LIBERTY. TDS, Breen state VIII, with obvious swelling on the obverse and strong die cracks under the date. From the Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

LOT 320 1800 S-205 R4 VF25. Slightly sharper but there is a very light rim bruise at AM. Otherwise smooth and very attractive with only trivial marks. A tiny planchet chip at the left top of the 0 in the date is a good identifying mark. Glossy medium brown and light olive. LDS, Breen state III, with cracks and die clashmarks on both sides. LOT 324 1800 S-212 R3 VF20. Significantly sharper but there is an area of roughness at the shoulder. Looks more like mint-made planchet flaws than pitting, but it counts either way. Otherwise just a tiny speck of corrosion and verdigris on the bust tip, a very tiny speck of verdigris higher up on the bust, and a dull struck-through line close over the second 0 in the date. Attractive glossy medium olive and steel. E-MDS, Breen state III, with die clashmarks and a small “horn” up from the nose before the eye. Graded EF40 net VF20 by Noyes, his photo #25821. LOT 321 1800 S-208 R3 VG10. A few points sharper with an obvious scratch close before the nose plus a few smaller ones below. Mostly smooth but there is very fine roughness on the lower half of the reverse. No verdigris. Mostly glossy olive brown and chocolate with much darker olive brown and steel on the reverse.
