LOT 296 1855 N-9 R-1 Knob on Ear VF30. 10 points sharper but there is a corrosion spot on the edge under CA in AMERICA and microscopic roughness on the surfaces. Dark brown and chocolate browns. MDS, state d. Ex; Phil Hyde

LOT 298 1856 N-12 R-1 EF40. AU sharpness but a bit dirty with very faint parallel hairlines above the portrait, and a few trivial nicks on Liberty’s cheek. Attractive

LOT 297 1856 N-7 R-2 MS60. Lustrous chocolate and dark bluish steel browns with traces of very faded red on both sides. There is a carbon spot under star 6, and a few trivial ticks on NIT in UNITED, as well as a low spot from star 8 to star 12, as is common on this variety. M-LDS, die state. LOT 300 1857 N-1 R-1 Large Date F12. VF30 sharpness but dark and cleaned with uniform microscopic roughness covering the surfaces. Only the most trivial of marks, nothing noteworthy. Uniform deep charcoal patina. Ex; William Schwartz
