EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 261 1839 N-8 R-1 Head of 1840 EF40. Near AU sharpness but there is a nick over ER in LIBERTY, another below star, and the surfaces have been cleaned and retoned iridescent tan with deeper steel overtones. Glossy smooth surfaces with nice eye appeal.

LOT 262 1839 N-8 R-1 Head of 1840 NGC XF40. Chocolate and olive browns. There is a bit of dark crud in some protected areas, otherwise only the most trivial of marks. Our grade is VF30. 4349125-028 Ex; Phil Davis

LOT 264 Group of 4 Braided Hair Cents 1839-1840. Lot of 4 Coins. Includes an 1839 Head of 1840, an 1840 Large Date, an 1840 Small Date, and an 1840/18. All are sharper with minor surface issues, grading VG to Fine.

LOT 265 1840 N-6 R-1 Large Date NGC AU50. EF sharpness but there are a few dark spots of shallow scale on the reverse, and minor nicks on the obverse. Those include a couple on the cheek, one on the neck, a scratch below star 6, and another over 8. Pleasing chocolate brown. Our grade is VF30.
