LOT 257 1838 N-1 R-1 VF30. AU sharpness but there is microscopic porosity visible under a glass and the surfaces have been cleaned and retoned. Now an iridescent tan and light steel tones, a couple shades darker on the reverse, with a deeper red splash at the nose. A tiny speck of verdigris at the last A in AMERICA is the only mark. LOT 255 1837 N-7 R-1 Plain Cords NGC MS62BN. Tan and light steel browns with a splash of darker maroon sand steel from star 3 to 6, a smaller over NIT in UNITED, and a steel spot above C in CENT. LOT 258 1838 N-12 R-2 VF35. Pleasing medium chocolate brown. There is a bit of dirt in some of the protected areas, but otherwise only a couple trivial marks. Smooth surfaces. Ex; Ray Fullop - William Schwartz

LOT 259 1839 N-2 R-2 Head of 1838 NGC AU58. Choice chocolate brown with peeps of faded mint red underneath in some protected areas of both sides. A trivial tick below the ribbon tail is the only mark, hardly noteworthy. Nice eye appeal. EDS. Our grade is AU55. 2043577-006 Ex; Phil Davis

LOT 256 1838 N-1 R-1 PCGS MS63BN CAC. Frosty light chocolate and olive browns. The notable marks include a hairline scratch on the dentils between stars 8-9, a carbon speck between star 1 and the bust tip, and a tick on the right base of A in STATES. LOT 260 1839 N-4 R-1 Silly Head NGC XF45. Light chocolate and light olive brown gently mottled with dark toning spots around the obverse peripheries. A bit dirty in some protected areas, free of notable marks otherwise. Our grade is EF40 . 4481956 001 Ex; Phil Davis
