EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 240 1832 N-2 R-3 Small Letters Rev PCGS AU50. Frosty medium to dark chocolate and olive browns with subtle steel tones on the central reverse. The only notable marks are a diagonal pin scratch left of the ear and a nick atop the first S in STATES. Our grade is EF40. 1687.50/02518940 Ex; Phil Davis

LOT 237 1831 N-10 R-3 VF30. 5 points sharper but there are numerous trivial nicks on both sides, nothing major but enough to prevent the higher grade. Choice light brown with olive tones in some protected areas. Glossy, smooth surfaces. EDS.

LOT 241 1833 N-2 R-2 EF40. AU sharpness but retoned and now the obverse is attractive light brown with a splash of tan right of the date and bluish steel tones highlighting the devices, while the reverse is tan brown with similar bluish steel tones. There is a tiny oxidation spot at T in CENT, otherwise trivial marks. EDS. Ex; William Schwartz

LOT 242 1834 N-1 R-1 Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters Rev ICG AU 58 Details (Buffed). Harshly cleaned and buffed and now toned artificial red and orange. There are traces of old dirt in some reverse protected areas, and faint hairlines left behind across the surfaces. Our grade is VF30. MDS, state c.

LOT 239 1832 N-1 R-2 Small Letters Rev ICG AU58 Details. AU55 sharpness but corroded with old verdigris in some obverse protected areas and on the nose and chin. A mix of light brown, chocolate brown, and dark browns. Mint frost remains on the reverse. Our grade is VF35. 5198940401 Ex; Phil Davis

LOT 243 1834 N-1 R-1 Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters VF35. AU sharpness but cleaned and retoned and now tan browns with olive and iridescent deep ruddy brown tones . A small scratch behind the nose is the only notable mark. Smooth, glossy surfaces. M-LDS, state c.
