LOT 304 1839/6 N-1 R3+ Overdate 9 over 6 G5. A couple points sharper but lightly cleaned and there is a rim dent right of the date. The planchet is smooth except for some minor roughness at star 13. E-MDS, Grellman state b early, with a dull wave/crack from the dentils over star 3 to the nose. The date is bold and the overdate is strong.

CHOICE 1839/6 OVERDATE

LOT 305 1839/6 N-1 R3+ Overdate 9 over 6 PCGS graded F15. Choice glossy light brown and olive. Smooth and nicely struck with just a couple trivial marks. A tiny nick right of the end of the nose is the only notable mark. LDS, Grellman state c, with a nearly horizontal die crack bisecting the obverse from above star 3 to star 11. The date is bold and the overdate feature is obvious. Our grade is VG10 Choice. A really nice lower grade example of this popular “Redbook” variety. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
