Rothchild Counterfeit Houston Money Show Auction January 20, 2024

LOT 266 1835 N-15 R2 Head of 1836 MS60. Lustrous light steel brown. Satiny and very attractive. The only mark is a tiny planchet chip in the field between the nose and star 4. M-LDS, Grellman state b late, with flowlined fields. The lump under the right side of the 3 is dull and weak but still visible. There is a partial double profile from the forehead down to the chin. Graded MS61 by Noyes, his photo #21520. Comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 264 1835 N-12 R4 Head of 1834 with Small 8 & Stars VF25. At least 5 points sharper but there is a nick on the chin, another in the field off the end of the nose, and a light rim bruise over star 9. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. E-MDS, Grellman state a, without the radial crack to the dentils right of star 9. The reverse is rotated 30 degrees clockwise.

LOT 267 1835 N-16 R2 Head of 1836 EF40+. Choice frosty light to medium chocolate brown. Satiny and very attractive with light wear on the highpoints. The only notable mark is a shall planchet flake in the field over the bust tip, as struck. E-MDS with a clear double profile from the forehead down to the chin. An attractive cent that comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 265 Trio of 1835 Cents with Head of 1836. Includes N-14 R2 MDS VF20 net F15 for a light rim bruise, N-15 R2 VF20 net VG10 for granularity, and N-7/17 R1 LDS (N-17) VG10. Lot of 3 coins.

LOT 268 1835 N-18 R4+ Head of 1834 with Small 8 & Stars G4. Slightly sharper with fine granularity and a few marks. No significant verdigris and the notable marks are a minor rim bruise under the date and a nick at the right top of the N in ONE. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. EDS, Grellman state a, without any crumbling in the dentils on the obverse.
