ATTRACTIVE 1834 N-5 EX BREEN-BITLER-NAFTZGER

LOT 251 1834 N-5 R5 Large 8 & Stars, Medium Letters PCGS graded XF45. Attractive frosty medium chocolate brown delicately woodgrained with lighter brown. Looks choice to the unaided eye but a glass reveals a scuff of faint hairlines on the portrait with a few of the hairlines reaching the field behind the portrait. No roughness or verdigris and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. A very nice example of this popular “Redbook” variety. Our grade is net VF35. Comes with an impressive provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.

LOT 253 1835 N-1 R1 Large 8 & Stars PCGS graded AU53. Frosty medium olive and steel brown. Satiny mint frost shows in the fields and protected areas on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only notable mark is a tiny planchet lamination off the end of the wreath stem (as struck). MDS, Grellman state a, with the usual die cracks on the obverse, but the additional radial crack from the dentils over star 12 has not formed. A sharp, attractive example of the Large 8 & Stars variety. Our grade is EF45+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label. 37105.53/39124863

LOT 252 1834 N-6 R3 Large 8, Stars, & Letters VF30. Glossy light olive brown. Smooth and choice, just lightly worn. MDS with flowlined fields but without the triangle chip hanging from the dentils right of star 8. A nice example of this “Redbook” variety.
