RARE TERMINAL STATE 1828 N-5

LOT 193 1828 N-5 R2 AG3. Partly glossy chocolate and steel brown. The fields and protected areas are covered with fine roughness and there are traces of shallow verdigris on both sides. The left side of the obverse is softly struck but the date is strong and the legends on the reverse are easily readable. Rare terminal die state with a cud break at TED.

LOT 196 1828 N-8 R3 VF25. Slightly sharper with traces of fine verdigris around the date and star 13. The only mark is a tiny chip out of the cheek at the jawline. Glossy light chocolate and olive with frost in protected areas. E-MDS.

LOT 194 1828 N-6 R1 VF20. Sharpness EF40 but recolored and coated with lacquer. The obverse is light golden olive while the reverse is a mix of light olive and chocolate with reddish tan in protected areas. The notable marks are small rim bruises at stars 1 & 13. M-LDS with die rust and fine cracks on the obverse.

LOT 195 1828 N-7 R3 VF25. Sharpness near VF35 but coated with a layer of lacquer or some other protectant. Smooth and the only notable mark is a diagonal scratch right of star 7. Glossy olive and steel brown. Late die state with many small lumps scattered over the obverse, a result of die rust.
