1798 S-149 R4+ Large 8, Style I Hair VG8 Sharpness F12 but covered with fine granularity under slightly glossy chocolate brown toning. The devices are a lighter share of brown and the two-tone appearance adds to the eye appeal. No verdigris but there are a few old, light scratches through the ear. EDS, Breen state I, before any swelling at S OF A. The date is bold and the legends are strong. Graded F12 net VG8 by Bland. Noyes says F12 net VG7 and tied for CC#10, his photo #24050. $1,500
